Jas the Label - Jasmine Ypermachou

22-year-old designer Jasmine Ypermachou, hailing from Sydney, Australia, has a passion for the fashion industry that grew during her time studying for a Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles at the University of Technology Sydney. With a strong foundation in innovative design from her university experience, she expanded her skill set through online tutorials and self-taught techniques during the pandemic.

Her brand, Jas the Label, began as an Instagram page to share her university assignment collections and projects. After completing her graduate women's collection, Feminature, she wanted to expand her knitting and beading work into a larger collection. Spending approximately nine months creating another four outfits by hand, she debuted her Feminature collection at Milan Fashion Week in 2022, forming the basis for Jas the Label.

The Feminature collection explores female self-expression and sexual liberation through the use of hand-beading and knitting techniques, with a focus on slow fashion and sustainability. She hopes Jas The Label will be a brand respected and desired for its values and concepts. The brand is unapologetically feminine, elevated and sexy, mixing delicacy and eccentricity with the female gaze in mind. Sustainability and authenticity are at the forefront of the brand's mission.

The Jas the Label persona is a confident and assured woman who dresses to please herself, unafraid to draw attention and break down gender roles and ideals.
